A shared horizon
La Centrale Agricole is an experimental area dedicated to urban agriculture in Montreal.
In Montreal, as elsewhere, some people live in food deserts and are unable to feed themselves properly. This mandate therefore seeks to link the contribution of urban agriculture (represented by bins) with more conventional agriculture (represented by fields in the background).
The green sun is a reference to Richard Fleischer's film, Soylent Green, and seeks to re-enchant the food narrative which this film director saw as a dystopian future.
