Fall 2026 Group Drawing Class
This fall, learn to draw with TitiMcCoy in a group class. Whether or not you have prior drawing experience, you'll be able to draw what you see by the end of the year. Ready to take on the challenge?
What you'll learn:

Observing before drawing: training the eye to see shapes, proportions, and spatial relationships;

Freeing the hand: loosening up before learning to control it Line: pencil control, pressure variation, contour line;

Volume: moving from flat shape to relief through light and shadow;

Composition: organizing what you see on a page;

Creative play: cultivating imagination and finding your own voic;

As a bonus, an introduction to other paper mediums (charcoal, ink, colored pencil)
This class is open to people of all ages, with no drawing experience required. It's offered in both French and English.

Is this class right for me if I've never drawn before?
Yes. What matters most is your motivation.
Will I learn to draw portraits, landscapes, or objects?
The class focuses on objects at first, but the technique you'll learn applies to any subject. If you're interested in portraiture, I can point you toward the best life drawing sessions in Montreal as a complement.
What materials do I need to bring?
A list will be provided after registration.
How many people are in the group?
The group targets around ten people.
What happens if I miss a session?
Up to one missed session can be made up in the following session.
Is the class recorded, or can I follow along remotely?
No, everything takes place in person. I avoid digital formats and want students to genuinely fall in love with the craft.
Does the price include materials?
No, but easels are provided.
Can I get a refund if I change my mind?
Yes, up until one week before the class starts. A 50% deposit is required before the class begins, with the remaining 50% due after the 4th session.
Can I transfer my spot to someone else?
Yes, but that person will be placed on the waitlist, and their spot will depend on availability.
What's your teaching approach?
Non-elitist and practical. I put myself in each student's shoes and tailor my approach as much as possible. My main goal is to help students fall in love with drawing before focusing on technique.
Do you have experience teaching drawing?
Yes, I've given private drawing lessons and taught mural art at the Académie des Beaux-Arts de Montréal.
Is the class based on a specific method or book?
Not directly, but I draw a lot of inspiration from Bert Dodson's philosophy, which shaped my own learning.
Is this class suitable for children, or is it adults only?
Yes, children are welcome, as long as they're motivated to learn.
